Foundry Resin
Shell-Molding Resin:This is a phenolic novolac type resin in liquid stage. Shell moulding process is a two part system. The first part is the resin where as second part is the catalyst, in powder form. Coated sand made out of Shell Moulding resin, provides good cold and hot tensile strengths, proper stick point and minimum peel-back. Normally 1.8 to 2.5% resin on sand is sufficient for the cores, but sometimes 3 to 4% resin on sand is required for the production of moulds which are subject to higher stress during casting, than cores. In the shell moulding process resin coated sand is placed into a heated metal pattern (250 - 280°C) by means of a dump-box or blowing with special machines into hot closed moulds. For making resin-coated sands, for use in the shell-moulding process, Indo-Bell manufactures Phenol-Formaldehyde resins, both in liquid and powder forms. Indo-Bell also manufactures suitable more...
